YuvaratnaNXT, 2017 competition conducted by Birla White
The students of PES University are proud winners of Three National Awards in the YuvaratnaNXT, 2017 competition conducted by Birla White. The awards were constituted to inspire budding architects to imaginatively present ideas from a range of versatile products manufactured by Birla White with its innumerable permutations and combinations. There were over 400 entries including international entries in the competition.
The theme for this year was “Indian festivals and culture”. The challenge was to design an interior or an exterior wall surface of 6′.0″ x 4′.0″ size using Birla White cement and its value added products such as levelplast, textura and GRC. The main objective was to come out with novel designs.
Second and Fourth semester students have won the First Prize, Third Prize and the Judges Appreciation Award. The assessment was done on the basis of concept, composition, aesthetics, theme, originality of idea and finally the innovative usage of Birla White materials. The designs were highly appreciated for their unique and practically implementable solutions. The support and encouragement by the Management of PES University, the expert guidance of the Dean and Faculty along with the creative spirit of the students helped the “Faculty of Architecture” achieve this milestone.
